Nala's Story : My Little Foxy Lady
Shared by Nic
Nala came to me as a foster when her family situation changed. Iād fostered dogs before, and each one had happily gone on to find their perfect forever home.
But Nala was different.
From the moment she stepped through the door, it was like sheād always belonged here. She settled in straight away and got along beautifully with my two huskiesāit was as if sheād known them all her life.
When the time came to advertise her for adoption, I found myself hesitating. Deep down, I knew I couldnāt let her go. She had already found her forever familyāright here with me.
My little foxy lady was home to stay.
Nala is no longer with me, but she is loved and missed every single day. She gave me more than I ever expected, and Iām so grateful she chose me.
Nishkaās Story: The Dog Who Chose Me
Shared by Carole
When Nishkaās meet and greet didnāt go to plan, the thought of her going back into kennels broke my heart. So I agreed to take her home with meājust temporarily.
At the time, I was still grieving the loss of my beloved Kira and Bailey, both of whom passed within such a short time. My heart was shattered, and Iād built walls around myself to cope with the grief. I wasnāt looking to let anyone else in.
But Nishka had other plans.
I didnāt know I needed her, but I think Kira and Bailey did. Itās almost like they sent her to me. She didnāt push, she didnāt rushāshe just quietly made herself part of my world.
And somehow, she helped me start to heal.
Nishka was never just a temporary foster. She was home all along.

But through it all, Chad never lost his cheerful spirit. Despite the long wait, he remained a happy, hopeful boy who charmed everyone he met.
And finally, his moment came.
Chad found his forever home with a family who understands him, accepts his quirks, and gives him the freedom, security, and love he deserves.
Now heās living his best lifeāwith space to run, people to adore him, and a brand new lease on life.
Some dogs just need time. Chad was one of themāand he was absolutely worth the wait.
Frankieās Story: Big, Daft, and Home at Last
Shared by Colin
Frankie came into rescue and was rehomed, but sadly, things didnāt work outāand he had to come back.
This big, daft, gorgeous lad was full of charm and character, but he was sometimes overlooked. Maybe it just wasnāt his time yet.
Eventually, though, Frankie found exactly what he needed: a forever home where he truly belongs. He now has a playful furry friend to keep him company, a family who adores him, and a life full of love, fun, and mischief.
Frankie has his paws firmly under the tableāand heās not going anywhere.
Heās finally home, and this time, itās forever.
Anukās Story: A Husky with No Intentions of Behaving
Shared by Val
About 11 years ago, a husky-owning friend of mine got in touchāsomeone had found a husky wandering loose and wondered if it might be his. It wasnāt, so he asked me to come and scan him for a microchip.
The chip details were out of date, so I started driving around trying to find his owner. Eventually, someone posted online about their missing huskyāand thatās how I first met Anuk.
I took him home, his owner told me she was considering giving him up, but decided to give it one more try. Nine months later, I got a call from the rescue asking me to pick up a dog in need. It was Anuk again.
Heād been passed to a friend of the original owner, but she quickly realised that a husky was a 10-year commitment she couldnāt make. So, Anuk came home with me.
Later, someone told me the real reason he was given up: he didnāt match the wallpaper.
Well, he may not match the dĆ©cor, but Anuk has been part of my life ever since. Heās always been a bit of a rogueāopening doors, sneaking into things he shouldnātābut heās full of character, and I wouldnāt change a single thing about him.
He didnāt just land in my homeāhe made it his.
